Feeling the Spring in yoga

I love feeling a change in season, especially the approach to Spring. You can’t beat getting outside and enjoying the ‘new air’ – how it feels on your skin, both new and familiar at the same time – but what I really love is observing these changes during yoga practice.

Clouds break apart for a beautiful workout

Today the sun broke through the Welsh clouds and poured into my living room, turning my workout into a sweltering, sweaty session. And I loved it! Instantly all those sensations and memories from the distant summer flooded back to me. I looked up at the sky and saw a plane floating across it; 30,000 feet high and off to some other land. I felt the warmth seep into my skin and tight muscles. I heard my breath and felt the energy flow through me. I could smell fresh coffee coming from the kitchen. All my senses came alive.

There is nothing like a change in season to bring you back into the now and observe the moment. And deeply, fully love it.

I'm not the only one enjoying the moment
